One Watershed, One Plan (1W1P) is a program through the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) that supports partnerships of local governments in developing prioritized, targeted and measurable implementation plans. Key principles are planning the major watershed scale and aligning local plans and state strategies.

Founded in 2012 with backing from the Minnesota state legislature, MAISRC is using innovative science to identify solutions to Minnesota's AIS problems.

The Pine River Watershed Alliance (PRWA) is a citizen-led volunteer organization that works with local units of government and other agencies to preserve and protect the local environment while meeting resident needs for economic development and a healthy community.  The PRWA has grown out of initial efforts of the WAPOA and the Pine River Watershed Protection Foundation (PRWPF).

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

 

It’s predicted that loons won’t live in Minnesota by 2080. The beautifully haunting call of the loon is more than just a call of the wild. It’s an alarm for the future. Loons need clean freshwater to survive. And that is being threatened. That’s why we’re building The National Loon Center in Crosslake, MN.

Land and Waters Preservation Trust is a grant-making endowment fund, jointly supported by WAPOA and the Pine River Watershed Alliance, directed to preserving and protecting the water quality in the Pine River Watershed. Annual grants are awarded each spring.

Crow Wing SWCD works cooperatively with the public, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities in protecting our water and land resources through the use of conservation practices; providing local leadership for the prudent use and conservation of water, soil, and associated resources while serving as a local natural resource information center.

 

LARA, a 501c3 represents approximately 30-35 lake associations in Crow Wing County.   LARA represents the lake associations’ concerns with the county, makes comment on the county’s AIS prevention plan, helps new associations get off the ground, and serves as a fiscal agent for non 501c3 lake associations applying for grant funds. 

The Crosslakers are a group of citizens and business people who are interested in making Crosslake's future a positive and fun place to be.  There are several active projects and many more are slated for action.  

MN COLA is a volunteer organization with the mission of preserving, protecting and improving the waters and shorelands of the State of Minnesota through advocacy, education, and sharing of best practices.

Minnesota Lakes and Rivers Advocates is an advocacy group solely focused on protecting Minnesota's lake and river heritage for current and future generations by forging powerful links between lakes, lake advocates and policy makers.
