Attention Shoreline Property Owners
Would you like some answers on how to restore your shoreland, add buffer zones, and reduce fertilizers and phosphorus from going into your lakes? WAPOA can help! Cost sharing opportunities may be available for you through the Crow Wing Soil and Water to do a buffer project. A buffer project is an area of land next to the lake that is cleared of existing weeds and grasses. Native wildflowers and grasses that help the pollinators and butterflies are then planted. This buffer acts to filter the water running off the lawns to reduce the amount of fertilizers, pesticides and soil running off into our lakes.
Annual WAPOA Shoreland Restoration Open House Held in June of 2025!
