Business Interview: Lakes Premier Property Care LLC
Matt Mailand started Lakes Premier Property Care LLC in 2015. Matt is originally from the cities but spent most of his life in the Crosslake area, first at his grandparents cabin, then permanently when his parents moved the family up to the area in the mid 1990s. His parents felt the slower pace and more wholesome atmosphere was a better place to raise a family. He is still grateful for his parents wise decision as it is where he and his wife, Lea have chosen to raise their own children. They work hard to show their children the value and beauty of nature every day and strive to teach them conservation and respecting the land, lakes and wildlife.
As a business owner Matt feels he is on the front lines of preserving the natural beauty of the area. He works hard to make sure the properties under his care are safe and secure. His goal is to maintain and improve the properties to compliment the natural beauty of the lakes and shores they sit on. Matt chooses to support WAPOA as a way of saying thank you to his clients for supporting him. It's something that benefits both them and their neighbors as he cares for the properties that sit on the shoreline of the waters that WAPOA protects. Matt says, “WAPOA works hard to reach out to the community through marketing and events to educate the community on the importance of maintaining and improving the waterways of the area. This will allow future generations to enjoy the lakes the way they are and I dare to say with hope, possibly the way our grandparents did. I believe the best way to keep the lakes healthy, is to have the natural buffer at the shoreline. A line of defense between man's creation on land and nature's natural beauty of the waters. Respect for the rules and regulations of the waterways and fisheries are key as well.”
